QSL CARDS

WHAT IS A QSL CARD?

When using morse code, there are a set of standard abbreviations called "Q codes" . These are used much like text messaging abbreviations of the 21'st century to save time and space while sending a message. The code "QSL" means "Can you acknowledge receipt?" This has spawned the tradition of sending QSL cards to confirm a conversation with a fellow ham. These QSL cards are often a source of great pride, with Hams often creating flashy designs to represent their station or home country. W3EAX has a large collection of QSL cards received dating all the way back to the club's inception in the 1930's.
